Application for a long-term visa (D-type visa) allowing stay in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days. This is the first step for most third-country nationals arriving for study, work, or family reasons.

When Do You Need This Form?
When applying for a long-term visa (D visa) for stay over 90 days. Must be applied for from your home country at a Czech embassy/consulate.

Tips & Best Practices
- Apply as early as possible — embassy processing can be slow
- Book your embassy appointment well in advance
- The long-term visa is usually valid for 6-12 months
- Before the visa expires, apply for a long-term residence permit to extend your stay
- All documents must be apostilled and translated to Czech
- Available in Czech/English and Czech/Russian versions
